Last winter, 2009-2010, I went to Ecuador as a tourist and a volunteer for a month. An opportunity came up to help the children in Mindo, Ecuador, at Salem International and 18 used digital cameras were donated by very generous people. The kids and I had a wonderful time exploring photography around town capturing images of the people and places the kids call home.
The kids asked when I was coming back, so I'm planning on returning next winter 2010-2011. If you have any really good cameras you want to donate hang onto them until August 2010 when I will be collecting them again. You can give them to me when you see me or drop them off at
Yankee Book & Art Gallery
10 North St. Plymouth, MA 02360
Between the hours of noon to 4pm.
If you happen to be going to Mindo, drop them off at El Quetzal and tell them they are for the Cameras for Kids project.
More information on donating cameras in the post dated July 15th, 2010.
